Camping is one of the most fun things our scouts participate in through scouting. Twice a year the families of Cub Scout Pack 499 come together and participate in overnight family campouts. The entire family is welcomed and encouraged to attend. This is a great way for everyone to enjoy the outdoors and experience scouting by camping.
Family campouts are either a recreational and non-structured camping experience or Cub Scout Pack 499 participates in a council camping event. We have camped most frequently at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch, Worth Ranch, and Camp Tahuaya.
Cub Scout Pack 499 also has at least one more campout each year. The event usually attended by Cub Scout Pack 499 is Cub-O, which is one of the most popular orienteering events in North America.
